The surface of Mars may have been carved by microbes, possible authors of enigmatic stick structures observed in Gale Crater.


This revolutionary conclusion was reached by a multidisciplinary team of scientists led by Andrea Baucon, paleontologist at ÃÛÌÒTV of Genoa, and composed of:

  • Carlos Neto de Carvalho, geologist collaborator of the D Institute. Luiz at ÃÛÌÒTV of Lisbon
  • Fabrizio Felletti, professor of geology and sedimentology at ÃÛÌÒTV of Milan
  • Roberto Cabella, Professor of Geo-resources at ÃÛÌÒTV of Genoa.
